Introduction

The thin film evaporator is a type of evaporator, characterized in that the material liquid flows in a film form along the wall of the heating pipe to conduct heat transfer and evaporation, and has the advantages of high heat transfer efficiency, high evaporation speed, short material residence time, and therefore is particularly suitable for heat sensitivity. Evaporation of matter.

Characteristics

1. Reliable, continuous treatment of viscous, easily fouling and contaminated liquids

2. Due to short residence time, narrow residence time distribution

3. Evaporation performance is good

4. The product has minimal loss in the case of a wide range of pressure, temperature, viscosity and evaporation properties.

Working principle

For the thermal separation of the mixture, a film is produced at the heated wall of the cylindrical or conical evaporator. A distribution ring on the rotor distributes the liquid evenly around the perimeter. The blades mounted on the rotor then spread the liquid over the heat transfer surface with a minimum of 0.5 film.

The fluid model concept in thin film evaporators assumes that bow waves are formed before each rotor blade. In the gap between the rotor blades and the heating surface, the fluid is propelled by bow waves with intense heat and mass transport in the highly turbulent region. Good heat transfer performance even when handling viscous products. In addition, the formation of deposits is avoided, and the intense mixing also protects temperature-sensitive products from overheating.

Another important task of the rotor is to stabilize the liquid film on the heated surface at high evaporation rates. On the one hand, evaporation in the nucleation boiling zone is possible without the membrane breaking. On the other hand, the liquid film is pressed against the heating surface by centrifugal force. This avoids an unfavorable evaporation mode in which a vapor layer having an insulating effect is formed under the liquid film. Therefore, due to its working principle, a very high specific evaporation rate can be achieved in a thin film evaporator.
